The Power of GOALS! Making & Achieving Them!

The Power of GOALS!
The past few months I went on a GOALS binge. I listened to Zig Ziglar Goals audio files( totally recommend them- he is charming and the grandfather of audio  self - improvement )  Seth Godin's Goals notebooks based on Zig  Ziglar ( get ready to take action! ) and use a Franklin Covey Monarch Planner  because I work on clients PR campaigns and need to keep track of what stage each client's publicity and marketing is at and my action steps to keep them in the news and drive traffic to their web site. It helps me stay on target and balanced. But I am starting to think of getting an ap for my iphone since it means I would be able to easily work while traveling to meet a client before his event or in the green room when he is on a TV interview I set up.
But it is Seth Godin's tracking system is called Pick Four bundled in 4 notebooks that holds me accountable and current on achieving the life I want to live. It the Zig Ziglar's updated version of his legendary goal- setting program, The Performance Planner.

From www.Amazon.com ,  " Using Ziglar's philosophy that the key to success is directed action, this book challenges the reader to reach outside his or her comfort zone and take the necessary steps to achieve success. Known for his genuine and authentic approach, Ziglar imparts decade's worth of strategies. Pick Four is an important tool for anyone looking to create positive change; guaranteed to put you on your path to success."  And that is a very accurate description of what happens when you  go through the process of defining what you want to happen in your life , narrowing it down to what is possible if you really stretch and take action and work towards achieving your goals. Did I mention you write in it every day?

You create your Dream List in the notebook. Then your  the WHY list- why do you want the goal, finally the BALANCE list in Career, Family, Financial, Mental, Physical, Social, Spiritual . After your mind is clear and you see what really is important to your life you PICK FOUR goals to work on for 12 weeks.
I've been doing this and have accomplished one of my goals recently, one in 2 months,  one will be completed next week, the last is evergreen and always in progress- used cash to pay for my son to attend college, in the final stages of the Reality TV series about to be presented with my very very talented client, , almost completed updating my Publicity Launch Formula Course that I created with John Kremer for launching next week, and working with clients that have positive information that I can help them achieve fame and increase their wealth by being in the news through publicity.

What are the four goals you want to work on that will change your life?

Wish you all success

Best,
Imal Wagner

Never Give Up Chase Your Dreams - Diana Nyad

Never Give Up Chase Your Dreams - Diana Nyad

www.ImalPR.com

Diana Nyad  @diananyad a 64 year old woman is now the first woman to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage - she accomplished her amazing life goal!
Her immediate statements as she  walked out of the water were: "One is, we should never ever give up. Two is, you're never too old to chase your dreams. "Three is, it looks like a solitary sport, but it's a team."
Three years ago she  stated "I am stunned, at age 61, at how fast it all flies by," she said in the chat, explaining her motivation to keep going. "My mom just died. We blink and another decade passes. I don't want to reach the end of my life and regret not having given my days everything in me to make them worthwhile."
Two miles from the end of the swim Monday morning, Nyad stopped to address her support crew.

"This is a lifelong dream of mine and I'm very very glad to be with you," she told her team, according to an update on her website. "Some on the team are the most intimate friends of my life and some of you I've just met. But I'll tell you something, you're a special group. You pulled through; you are pros and have a great heart. So let's get going so we can have a whopping party."

Her story  is truly inspirational and I hope gives you courage to live your dream. Most authors  have a struggle once their book is finished to get it published. Just as Nyad tried five times before but had to turn back due to sharks and jelly fish but this year she was well prepared- technology, Mother Nature and her team helped her.
The New York Times wrote that sharks steered clear, the current carried her along , storms evaporated, Nyad  wore a jelly protection suit and a mask to protect her face from their poison. Her body was coated with "sting stopper" gel that served as a barrier from the venom. She had her team of divers who swam ahead and dispersed the jellyfish near Key West.

"I think that Mother Nature said: 'You know what? Let her go,' " said Bonnie Stoll, one of her closest friends. "Diana also did her homework."

Tim Ferris wrote his book the Four Hour Work Week and it was refused by 25 publishers before Random House bought his book. They bought it because he re worked his pitch and spent over a year befriending several New York Times best-selling authors. He asked their advice, he did research and came up with a marketing plan and followed through on the best information he had . Many became his friends and they all blogged and pitched his book to their network. Many other things happen to help Tim - but it happened because he was well prepared and knew who could assist him to reach millions of people quickly with news of his book. And it was pitched to different niches, groups who would be most interested in his book. The press coverage followed his blog tour postings.

By his second book the press were lining up to promote the book with him.  Tim tweeted used facebook, and blogged - he showed up at events as a speaker during that first year. Nyad was prepared physically, she was mentally positive knowing she had to succeed and could , she sought experts to help her prepare to combat possible obstacles and she had a group of friends accompany her on her journey to clear the path just in case sharks or jelly fish were in the way as she swam. Her journey does remind me of what it takes to successfully launch a book,  sell many copies become a best-selling author and establish your Brand  as a leader.  Knowing how to approach other experts and authors to help you do a blog tour is essential or else you need to establish your brand through your own blog and invite them to join you on your web site.
Being in the news quickly establishes  your book, brand and expertise.

And Diana has her film ready to be sold-
www.diananyad.comher charity link is up and her Oct event to swim in New York City Times square. I love that she was totally prepared to succeed and created multiple streams of income. But her huge revenue will come from her book ( not yet mentioned) and her speaking  engagements.

If you are interested in taking an online course  to learn how to market and sell copies of your book, create your own blog tour, your amazon campaign, become a registered speaker, and how to be in the news please send me an email to imalwagner@gmail.com . Or if you are looking to hire a publicist for a three month intensive  campaign contact me .
In the next newsletter I will go over in detail a campaign I created for a young man to launch his international career in music and the campaign for an author whose goal was  to become a syndicated writer and expert for TV shows in her niche!
